2002 the Two Rivers Rotary was invited by the City of Two Rivers to sponsor a lookout on the Maritime Trail for $25,000, payable over 5 years. To do so, the club needed a major fund raiser. Rotarian Bill Gretzmacher came up with the idea of a dinner and auction. The initial event was well received and the next 3 years the event proceeds went to the Trail Lookout.
2006, we originally planned one more event for the trail. However, after hearing from the people of Foundation Hope about the great need that still existed in southern
Mississippi
in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, we decided to give the entire proceeds of the dinner and auction to the foundation. Over $8500 was raised.
2007, we invited local charities submit request for projects and Habitat for Humanity, Two Rivers House was selected as the recipient. The 80 participants generously allowed the club to present a check for $10,000 to Habitat.
2008, Environmental Education Program at Woodland Dunes was selected from seven proposed beneficiaries. Over 80 Rotarians and guests attended the event that netted $8300.

, Shipwreck Area was also chosen from seven proposals received. The silen Auction was added as a feature. The 88 participants generously allowed the club to present a check for $10,000 to Roger Street.
2010 The Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry, Freezer Project was selected from five proposals received. There were 65 Rotarians and guests. The event raised $10,000.
2011 The Domestic Violence Center was the recipient of the funds. This provided over 250 client nights of shelter. Through the generosity of 86 Rotarians and guests, we were able to raise $8500.
Rotarian Dr. Robert Gahl has served as the auctioneers at this live action event since its inceptions. Bob brings skill, humor and panache to the auction as he coaxes upwards of $5000 from the participants.
