1.My main goals are in the first place, to graduate from a good University, with the major in the area that interests me. I intend to find a good job and live through my life the best way possible. About leadership, I have been a Team Leader at school, tutor of school groups and computer instructor. 2. - Listen to music: I love to stay in my room listening to music and thinking. - Using the computer: Since my first contact with computers in 1994, I have been very much interested, always trying to be up-to-date, and to discover new things from it. - Play games in the computer: this is without a doubt my favorite recreation. On my free time, I have fun with my computer. That's why I always buy new games, especially the ones that have strategies. - Since I was younger, I have always liked to play games in the computer, however, I can only do that If I'm not studying, listening to music or other tasks. 3. I intend to graduate in the field of Mathematics, and work in something surely related to Computer Network. I have decided to work in that area since the beginning of high school. If I follow that area, I'm sure I will have good chances of success. 4. To learn about another country. To enjoy a new culture and improve my English. During my stay, I hope to get to know a new family, a new style of life, meet new people, absorb values from the culture, and be an honored student and a excellent representative of my country. At the end, I hope to come back with a broader view of the world in order to share with others, and to have acquired fluency in English. 5. My father works as a Public Administration Technician for the Public Administration bepartment of the Federal District Government in Brasilia, since 1976 (a total of 26 years). My mother works as a Legislative Analyst, specialized in researching in the governmental budgeting area, for the Federal Senate since 1985 (a total of 17 years). 6. I have never been abroad. 7. In respect to food, I don't like corn, peas, meat with fat, shrimp, sea food in general, olives, ketchup, mustard, and some other things. About people's attitudes that I dislike, I don't appreciate people that insist on something too much, or provoke others, or that are false. 8. I consider myself friendly, a good companion, and fun. 9. I am a little shy. 10. Because I wake up early every day, on Sundays or on Holidays I like to wake up late. Normally I don't have breakfast. Usually, I watch some film or documentary on TV. After lunch, I rest a while and go play a little on my computer. Depending on the day and the film available at the movies, I like to go to a Shopping Mall to watch a movie, eat something and walk around window shopping. I also go to parties and shows or simply get together with Marcelo Medeiros Freire 13. I have two brothers and a sister. The oldest is 18 years old and the youngest is 10. My sister is 14 years old. Most of the time, my brothers argue over who's the turn to play on the computer. My sister hardly stays home, because she's always out with her girl friends, being more at her friends' house than at her own. They all live at my house and study at the same school, although my oldest brother will graduate from high school this year. They all study the regular subjects offered by the school, and study English outside of school in a especial course. 14. I live at Guara, which is near the main city - Brasilia. In general, it takes about 15 minutes by car to get there. About my city, the people there are nice, polite and friendly. There are many industries in a specific area, called Industry and Provision Sector, and commerce is the major activity of our local economy. You can buy almost everything you wish there. As an entertainment, we get together to talk. friends to chat. If I have any time left, I try to jog in order to do some exercise. At night, I go back home to chat on the web, talking to people on my chat-room. Later, I go to my room, to listen to music, to study or simply to watch TV. 11. Mainly I try to pay attention in class and learn the most I can. I also talk to my friends, but only during the break hours. I take 13 subjects such as Portuguese/Grammar, Portuguese/Literature, Arts, Physical Education, History, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Philosophy, English and Writing. At my school, the duration of each class is 50 minutes. The school routine is to start at 7:20 am, with a 20 minutes break at 10:40 am, and classes ends at 12:40 pm. My father wakes me up at 6:30 in the morning, and I take about 10 minutes to be completely awake, ready for a 5-7 minutes bath depending on the day. Then I go back to my room, turn on some music and get dressed for school. When I'm ready, I eat something and drink water. According to the day, I stay at my room listening to music and I watch the mourning news. When it's 7:10 am, I go back to the bathroom, brush my teeth and around 7:16 am, I am ready to leave for school, walking. When I arrive to school, I greet my friends and talk to them till the teacher arrives to class. At school we don't choose the subjects we want to take, because it has a predefined schedule. Today, I suppose my first class is Geography. When the teacher arrives in my classroom, I improve my posture and wait till he starts class. Then, the teacher starts writing some topics on the board. I copy and talk a little with my classmates. When the teacher starts explaining, everybody pays attention. His class is very easy going, and for that reason, I like it best. After the 4th class, the bell rings and I leave the classroom with some friends and go to the patio of the school. There I buy something to eat and meet students from other classrooms to talk about everything. At 10:55 am, the first bell rings and we have to go back to class. At 11:00 am, we are all ready for next class, and now its history class, a subject I also enjoy. The teacher is very fun and the subject is interesting. At 12:40 am, the last bell rings and I go home talking to some friends. We don't have much time to talk because my school is very close to my house. Getting home, I can have lunch and rest. This is a little summary of what I normally do in the mornings. 12. I find my home pleasant and comfortable, having everything I need and a little more. I don't miss anything. In my house, besides the kitchen, living room, etc., there are 6 bedrooms, and each one of us has a room with a TV and sound system, and we still have an extra room to store things, like shoes, games, books ... etc. I study at my room where I'm not disturbed and I get to relax. I'm never late for school, because I always leave 5 minutes in advance and it's only a 2 minutes walk from my house to get there. 15. Without a doubt "The Lord of the Ring" is the best book of all. I have read the first, second, and now I'm almost done with the third. And the author, J.R.R. Tolkien, is the best author. I love all his stories, although I have only read two books and a half. My brother has all his books that are sold here, but now I don't have so much time to read, because besides going to school in the morning, I'm taking another course in the afternoon (to study for the admission test for the University) and I only have the evening and night period to relax a little. I don't have the habit of reading, and I only read when it really interests me, like "The Lord of the Ring". Besides that, I only read what school orders and most of them are very boring with little exceptions. 16. I believe I am not having any problem, because I have a good relationship with my friends and family. And at school, I am doing well, with all grades above averages and occasionally being complimented by teachers. At the course, in the afternoon, I also have a good relationship with everybody and my grades are also good. |
